THE REVOLUTION OF 2007 and DELHI AGREEMENT



Every country has some history of ups and downs.In Nepal,Junga bahadur rana started the autocratic rana rule in 1903 that lasted to 2007BS.Differentparvalikekotparva(2nd aswin1903BS),Bhandarkhal parva(12th kartik 1903BS) and Alau parva(14th shrawan 1904BS) took place in Nepal.People were not able to raise their voice because of the cruel rana rule.
Different political parties were established to fight against the tyrannical rule of the ranas.Nepal Praja Parishad which is the first political party of Nepal was established on 20th jestha 1993 at ombahal of kathmandu.Due to political parties,people became aware of the contemporary system being practised in the nation.There were internal conflicts among the ranas.When India got freedom in 2004BS from British government ,the indian government supported nepalese political parties.King Tribhuvan with his family escaped from his palace and took asylum in the indian embassy in kathmandu on 21st kartik 2007BS and on 23rd kartik,they flew to Delhi.
There was huge protests against the ranas.People started to come to the street with the anti rana slogans.The revolutionary movement reached into its climax.Finally,Mohan shumsher was unable to handle the country and requested the indian government for negotiation.Mohan shumsher sent his son,Bijaya shumsher for the negotiation.on the arbitration of Jawaharlal Neharu,the then prime minister of India,king Tribhuwan,Ranas and the Nepali congrees sat for negotiation in Delhi.Finally,a Tripartite agreement was signed in Delhi on 1st falgun,2007BS.This agreement is called the Delhi Ageement .This agreement ended the rana rule from Nepal.The king returned on 4th falgun 2007BS and he made a declaration of the establishment of democracy on 7th falgun 2007BS that ended the rana rule in Nepal for ever.
